The cottages are available for weekly rental or short stays of 3 days or longer.

Arrival and departure dates are completely flexible.

The rates include all bedding, towels and electricity.

BOOKINGS

Telephone and email bookings will be held for 7 days to allow time for us to receive your deposit. In periods of high demand, we may contact you sooner for confirmation

A deposit of £200 is payable by cheque or online bank transfer at the time of booking.
Confirmation of your booking will be sent to you as soon as we receive your deposit.

The balance of the rental payment must be paid 8 weeks prior to the date of arrival. Bookings made within 8 weeks of arrival are payable in full.

Bookings made within 14 days of arrival must be paid in full by online bank transfer.
A returnable good housekeeping deposit of £200 will also be required before arrival.

Terms and Conditions

Your Holiday Price

Your holiday price includes broadband internet access, FreeSat TV, all bed linen and towels (excluding beach towels), reasonable use of electricity within the property (N.B. does not include charging your car), full central heating, use of travel cots and highchairs. Beds are made up for your arrival.

Central heating systems will be set to come on during certain periods of the day to keep the property comfortable and cosy in all seasons.

We cannot be responsible for any failure of the broadband internet service or electricity supply where the problem originates elsewhere or is an area problem or a service provider problem. No compensation is payable in the event of these services failing, or where applicable, being unavailable or too slow.

Arrival and Departure

Your cottage will be ready for you by 4pm and departing guests are requested to vacate the house by 10.00 on the departure date.

Please advise us in advance of your expected time of arrival so that we can ensure the cottage is ready for you when you arrive.

Good Housekeeping Deposit

A £200 refundable security/good housekeeping deposit will be added to your accommodation price. The deposit will be returned to you within one week of your departure. Any costs for breakages, damages or additional cleaning required may be deducted.

Baby Equipment

If you would like to make use of our travel cots or highchairs, please do let us know when you make your booking.

Your Holiday

The properties are available for special events and celebrations but are not suitable for stag or hen parties and so these are not permitted.

Cleaning

The property should be left clean and tidy on departure, and we request that any damage or breakages be reported to us prior to departure in order that these can be rectified for incoming guests.

Pets

We are only able to accommodate well behaved dogs in The Staff Room, by special arrangement and on request. An additional cleaning charge of £25 and an extra good housekeeping deposit of £100 will also be payable.

Smoking

These are non-smoking properties and we request guests do not smoke in any of the cottages. An additional charge for deep cleaning of the cottage will be payable if this is not observed.

Vehicles/Personal Property

Guests are advised to take out holiday insurance to cover loss of, or damage to, personal effects. Personal possessions left in the house, and cars parked on the property, are at their owner’s risk. The facilities of the cottages and gardens are used at guests’ own risk.

Parking and Electric vehicles

There is plenty of designated space for off street parking at the property. We do not currently have any charging facilities for electric vehicles but there are charging points in the car park in Bowmore, the ferry terminal in Port Ellen and the Machrie Hotel. Guests are not permitted to charge their cars using the electricity supply in the cottages.

Travel to Islay

PLEASE NOTE: We recommend that you book your ferry or flight to Islay as soon as possible as the popular ferries/flights can fill up quickly during key summer and peak period dates such as bank holidays, Easter, special event weeks on Islay. Bridgend is approximately 12 miles from Port Ellen and 11 miles from Port Askaig. Please allow plenty of travel time when booking your return ferry.

Holiday Protection

To minimize the cost and inconvenience of cancelled bookings, guests are strongly recommended to take out holiday insurance.

Cancellation

If you need to cancel a reservation for any reason please notify us as soon as possible. In the event of a cancellation, we will make every effort to re-let the house and if we are able to do so, you will be reimbursed in full less the sum of £25 to cover administration costs.

If we are unable to re-let the house, the following cancellation charges will apply:

• Cancellation more than 8 weeks before rental commences – deposit forfeited

• Cancellation less than 8 weeks before rental commences – full cost of rental payable (i.e. deposit and full balance).

Adverse Travel Conditions

We regret that where there are ferry / plane disruptions due to bad weather conditions or for any other reason, we cannot be held responsible for late or non-arrival and no refunds can be provided.
